Set high on a peninsula overlooking the Andaman Sea, Amanpuri's
Villa Homes provide a picturesque setting for an informal Thai Buddhist,
Christian or non-religious wedding blessing. Set amidst the coconut
trees the two to six-bedroom Villa Homes have a living and open
air dining sala, separate bedroom pavilions and spacious common
areas with their own pool. Villa Homes offer the seclusion and intimacy
of a private home as well as access to Amanpuri facilities and services.
For your ceremony, they can be decorated with flower petals, fragrant
jasmine, orchids and a floral archway. White and pale pink lotus
flowers adorn the pool and the open-air spaces are lit with candles
and torches.
A traditional Thai Buddhist ceremony is performed by up to five
monks who garland the bride and groom with a string 'sai mongkon'
that is then entwined to symbolise the coming together of two individuals.
The couple are then blessed with holy water. The wedding party may
wish to elaborate on the blessing with traditional Thai music
and dancers, a Thai feast, elephant rides or perhaps a cruise on
one of Amanpuri's fleet of luxury vessels. These are available for
half-day, full-day and overnight charters. They can also serve
as the venue for a small ceremony.
It is recommended that guests hold their civil ceremony in their home country prior to or following their wedding celebration at Amanpuri
- An Amanpuri wedding requires a minimum of a two-night stay in a four-bedroom Ocean Villa Home and additional 10 rooms in a Garden Pavilion or higher room category.
- Villa Homes can accommodate up to 50 persons for a wedding reception.
- A maximum of 100 persons can be accommodated at the resort.
