The Boat Lagoon Phuket, next to Royal Phuket Marina in Koh Kaew was the island's first marina complex. It is surrounded by a group of condominiums, the Boat Lagoon Resort, serviced apartments and restaurants, shops and offices.
Short- and long-term accommodation is available overlooking the marina. It has been fully operational since 1994. This circular, 180-berth lagoon was originally a tidal flat at the head of a shallow, meandering two-mile creek, Klong Tha Rua.
The Boat Lagoon Marina features a wide variety of dining options, ranging from a quick lunch or an afternoon treat to a family dinner and an ‘end-of-the-week’ type drinks/party. If you prefer something a little more sophisticated along a marina boardwalk, this is the place to be.
Whether you like Thai, Italian, French, Indian or fresh bread and bakery, you won’t be disappointed here. Among their popular restaurants are La Taverna, Watermark, The Bakery, The Galley, Le Winch and Spice Island.
Eating at a marina doesn’t have to always be pricey. For those who are looking for a quick bite and cheap meal, check out the Deli Coffee Shop by the Marina’s supermarket or the Thai-style food stalls just across the road from it.

Services at the Phuket Boat Lagoon are comparable with marina services elsewhere in the world: a fuel dock, three service cranes lifting up to 80 tons, a large concrete work area and hardstand for up to 144 vessels, dry stack storage for 20 speedboats, 180 wet berths with power and water, a concrete boat ramp, WiFi, swimming pool, hot showers and changing room facilities along with many yacht service companies with on-site management. Other facilities within walking distance are a bank, laundry and a fitness centre. All vessel services are quoted on a per-foot basis.
After almost two decades of developing and running a marina in Thailand, the folks at Phuket Boat Lagoon recently opened a sister marina in Baan Klong Sai, Krabi called Krabi Boat Lagoon (Tel: +66(0) 8 7887 9214). Check them out if you are in the area.
The dazzling red/orange colour building on the left-hand side when first entering the marina is the DC One Med Spa Phuket. It’s a unique health setup featuring Face2Face, a skin and aesthetic centre and a fully equipped DC One Dental Clinic. These two high-end clinics are open six days a week from 10:00 – 19:00, closed on Sundays. Also located inside DC One Med Spa Phuket is Fillings Café, operated by Paresa Resort. It offers a selection of cakes, wraps, salads, smoothies, fresh juices and more in a café atmosphere from 09:00 – 18:00, also closed on Sundays.
Location: On Thepkasattri Road in Koh Kaew Area on the eastern side of Phuket. It sits side-by-side with Royal Phuket Marina.
