Gourmet Executive Chef Tummanoon Punchun has been sharing
the secrets of great Thai cooking with professional Chefs
and Thai food enthusiasts from around the globe for over a
decade.
Chef Tummanoons popular workshops are held every Saturday
and Sunday at Mom Tri's Boathouse from 10.00 to about 14.00h.
The course includes a folder of recipes, a Boathouse apron
and lunch. Guests are welcome to invite friends and family
to join the lunch.
The two half-day classes are conducted with fun and flair
and begin with an in-depth discussion of Thai flavourings.
Chef follows with tips on selection of herbs and spices, how
best to store each ingredient and the methods of chopping
dicing and pounding that precede the creation of a dish.
A total of ten recipes are taught during the two days. The
first four-hour session is devoted to appetizers and salads.
The second day features recipes for main courses and desserts.
After the recipes are explained and demonstrated by Chef,
all the participants get a chance to cook the dishes themselves
and to taste their creations afterwards.
By Sunday afternoon you will have conquered the basics of
Thai cooking and you will be able to impress and delight your
family and friends at home!

"Chef Tummanoon is not
the type who seeks to mystify or turn cooking into an
art form for a select few. Quite the opposite, in fact.
He delights in showing just how simple Thai cooking
is, dashing off a culinary gem in a few minutes."
Peter Malherbe
Sunday Times, South Africa
"Punchuns classes
have a hands-on style that enable everyone to feel ready
to be a sous-chef by the end of each day."
Erika Lenkert
Mercury News, San Francisco
