Mom
Tris Boathouse's wine cellar, a novelty in Phuket at
the time of its inception in 1989 by Owner M.L. Tridhosyuth
Devakul, has been honoured by the Wine Spectator since 1995
with the "Award of Excellence".
Over the years the wine list has been organised and expanded
upon by Wine Consultant and 3rd degree French Sommelier Georges
Ciret in collaboration with Mom Tri's Boathouse F & B
Manager Pinyo Thippimas.

A vertical selection of Prestige Wines, an assortment of
wines from 'new' countries, the addition of 'fashion' wines
and a large selection of quality wines by the glass, signalled
a commitment to a fine wine list with a good selection of
better producers along with a thematic match to the menu in
both price and style.
This dedication to quality was rewarded in August 2006 with
the first and the only Wine Spectator "Best of Award
of Excellence" awarded in the Kingdom of Thailand.

"You
dont have to go to Thailand to drink good wine, but
should you have in mind to head for this fascinating country,
I can point you in the direction of a good bottle. Or several,
in the case of our first port of call.
The Boathouse on Phuket is a phenomenon. With just 36
rooms, right on the turquoise sea, it has a lot going for
it anyway, but then you settle down to dinner under the stars
and they bring you the wine list. The first reaction is incredulity
do they really have all these wines? Yes, they do.
One cannot help feeling that if a dedicated owner can
create and maintain a wine list like this on a Thai island,
his counterparts should do the same in London and New York."
