Welcome to Budget
Car and Truck Rental of Thailand
Whatever
your rental needs, a great driving experience awaits.
There are two types of Insurance Protection
available in Thailand :
The Compulsory Third Party (CTP) Insurance under the
Road Protection Act provides limited injury and death cover to
anyone injured or killed in an accident. The driver is protected
up to Baht 10,000 and all other parties up to Baht 50,000 only.
The Comprehensive Motor Vehicle (CMV) Insurance provides
protection for own vehicle damage as well as liability protection
against any third party injury, death or vehicle damage.
We strongly recommended you select both of the following options
to give yourself the peace of mind needed to enjoy your driving
in Thailand.
1.) Loss Damage
Waiver (LDW)
Unless specifically stated, Budget rental rates
do not include coverage for CMV Insurance. Budget Thailand offers
LDW coverage, at a daily cost of Baht 200 This will then limit
your responsibility to the stated excess amount, subject to your
compliance with the Rental Agreement.
Should LWD be declined, Budget will require
evidence that you, the hirer, have the means to pay the full cost
of any own damage and third party claims.
The vehicle excess is Baht 5,000 for cars and
Baht 10,000 for trucks. Please refer to Item 3 on your rental
agreement for details of use restrictions, which, if contravened,
will void LDW.
If LDW is purchased, Budget's liability does
not apply until after exhaustion of all your or your company's
liability insurance and protection.
2.) Personal Accident
& Effects Insurance (PAE)
PAE Insurance is an optional protection plan
that can be purchased at time of rental for Baht 100 per day and
provides additional protection up to a maximum of:
Hospitalisation, Medical and Ambulance expenses
Baht 100,000 per person
Death Benefits
Baht 500,000 per person
Personal Effects
Baht 40,000 per vehicle
The maximum amount payable under this cover
is Baht 1,000,000 on any one accident. The Personal Effects extension
excludes money and covers damage, loss or theft of your personal
effects and baggage arising from an accident in your rental vehicle.
The driver at the time of accident must have
been authorized within the rental agreement, as coverage is void
for unauthorized drivers.
To obtain cover under these plans, simply ask
the Budget representative at time of rental and sign your acceptance
of cover on your rental agreement.
All claims require the full completion of a
Budget Accident Report Form. Please note that Budget does not
provide bail bond with any of its insurance policies.
The protection we provide is supported by independent
Thai Registered Insurance Companies and details of the vehicle
insurance policy may be obtained upon your written request.
