Albatross is a charming and pleasant dining venue as it has one of the best locations in Phuket. It stands waterside at the Canal Village inside Laguna Phuket facing the five-star resorts. Popular dishes includes chicken sate, vegetable spring rolls, filet mignon served with French fries or baby potatoes, chicken with cashew nuts, penang shrimp (shrimp in curry and coconut milk) and BBQ'd Phuket lobster. Andaman Bang Tao Bay Resort Restaurant

If you are looking for a place that is not too crowded for a nice start to the day, check out their breakfast or later on you can just sit and chill out with a cocktail at the open-air bar and restaurant while enjoying the amazing sunset and white sands at Bang Tao Beach.

Baan Talay Restaurant

Babylon Beach Club

One of the few high-end, non-hotel restaurants on Bang Tao Beach. Looking straight out over the Andaman Sea, the menu is full of interesting authentic Italian and Thai dishes with the freshest market vegetables and seafood, hand-picked every morning from local Thai markets and international suppliers. Bake bakery is run by the stylish Twin Palms Resort. Bake has several locations on the island, one of which is conveniently located at the Laguna entrance. This branch is probably one of the nicest-looking restaurants around Cherng Talay, with friendly service and an air-conditioned interior.

Their busy ovens churn out a wide range of products from baguettes to whole wheat bread and a variety of croissants including almond and chocolate versions to freshly baked chocolate cookies, chocolate chip & nut cookies as well as coconut macaroons. They also sell raisin ‘snails’, apple turnovers, custard pockets and muffins along with meringues, praline fingers, and waffles.

This restaurant and deli comes with a minimalist interior style. Chaba serves Thai and international dishes. It you are a fan of seafood enjoy fresh tropical choices from Chaba’s live seafood aquarium such as Phuket lobster, tiger prawns, sea bass, snapper, squid, mussels and fresh oysters. Detox Juice Bar

Opened in 2012 and located behind Wat Phranang Sang, 300m from the Thalang intersection on the road to Bangtao/Surin Beaches, Detox Juice Bar serves 100% fresh squeezed juices and has a 7-day Nutritional Cleansing Programme. They grow their own aloe vera and wheatgrass, and purchase most of the fruits from local farmers. They believe in freshness, cleanliness and fast service, so stop by and try them out!

The cozy restaurant DeDos in Cherng Talay is the creation of chef-owner Swiss-Bolivian Pablo Blattman. Since opening its first branch in Cherng Talay in 2004, Farang restaurant has become one of the locals' favourites. The food there is quite extraordinary. The chef cleverly creates interesting fusion dishes and the result is great food at good prices.

Flame sits right next to Bake bakery at the entrance of Laguna Phuket Resort complex in Cherng Talay. Among their enticing items are wood-fired oven pizzas, a range of roasts including chicken, baby pork ribs and beef ribs served with salad and French fries, chicken kebabs, beef and lamb fresh off the spit and a nice choice of beers to wash it all down.

Green Leaf

Green Leaf is right on Bangtao Beach and not only serves delicious Thai and fresh seafood but has a view to die for. It’s one of several local beachfront restaurants that have been there for ages. There is nothing fancy about the interior, it’s simple and unpretentious but the location alone makes you want to come back time after time, especially at sunset.

Pasta adds an intimate, interactive dimension to the dining experience in Cherng Talay. Pesto Restaurant

Pesto Restaurant is just a few doors away from the Black Cat Restaurant on the road running between Cherng Talay Police Station and Tinlay Place (aka Laguna Road). It offers surprisingly good quality food at friendly prices and it even has a 2012 award from Tripadvisor.

Don’t leave without trying

  1. pan-seared duck breast with Asian pear, green leaves and ginger orange vinaigrette
  2. moussaka with minced beef, eggplants, tomato, mozzarella cheese and bechamel
  3. seared sea scallops with potato purée, baby spinach, grilled sweet corn and lemon beurre blanc

It’s not surprising to learn that Pesto’s owner is a well respected and experienced Thai chef who once worked in Paris. Chef Chu has also led kitchens in some of the finest five-star resorts in both Samui and Phuket before opening his restaurant in Cherng Talay. Pesto is simply a gem.

River Spoon (formerly Blue Bell)

River Spoon is one of a few lakeside restaurants near the Laguna Phuket where customers can enjoy lake views in an open-air atmosphere. The Beach Bar may not have an original name but it sure is an original place. Located at the northern part of Bangtao Beach, this lounge bar and restaurant also hosts a tattoo studio, @Ink Tattoo. Opened in 2012, the Beach Bar & Restaurant is a large venue composed of two buildings situated right on the seafront – one being the original restaurant, here since 2007. The Bistro Bangtao

The Bistro Bangtao is a popular bar and restaurant located in the small village near the southern end of Bangtao Beach. Created and run by Thai Chef Kanjana Sangasri, who spent most of her life working in Sweden, The Bistro’s cuisine subtly blends all her culinary background with its various influences from Thai classics to northeastern Thai (Isan) to Swedish.

Featuring a contemporary style décor in open-sided and al fresco dining areas, the atmosphere at The Bistro Bangtao is relaxed and the service professional and friendly. Excellent Thai and international food, nice tropical settings, and reasonable rates, no wonder why The Bistro Bangtao is packed almost every night.

The Garden of Flavors

The Garden of Flavors is located on a tranquil street at the southern end of Bangtao Beach. The restaurant offers authentic Italian home-cooking and a fine selection of Thai dishes in a romantic candlelit garden. Their ice-creams and coffee, which are Italian specialties, deserve to be sampled.

The Orange House

As the name suggests, it is hard to miss the Orange house as the building is such a bright colour. The place operates as a dive centre, café and bar and even though the menu is not so extensive they have good enough choices such as Scandinavian breakfast, American breakfast, ham & cheese sandwich and spring-rolls. It is a friendly place open to all, and certainly not limited to divers. Try their happy hour drinks/cocktails. Orange House is a cool place with nice atmosphere and chilled out music with a full-sized pool table.
