Much of Bang Tao beach is occupied by the world famous Laguna
Phuket Resort Complex, a network of the some of the finest resorts
and spas in the world, and home to some of the finest dining you'll
find anywhere in Phuket.
At the Dusit
Laguna Hotel there are plenty of options to choose from,
but lovers of Italian food will enjoy La Trattoria, a sophisticated
Italian haute cuisine restaurant with a view of the sweeping lawn.
Try the delicious homemade pastas, finishing your meal with refreshing
Italian home made ice cream. Open daily from breakfast through the
day. Ruen Thai, a beautiful Thai style restaurant set by
a romantic lagoon serves excellent Thai food on traditional dishes.
The Banyan
Tree Phuket known for its health conscious spa treatments,
has some interesting restaurants. Saffron features Middle-Eastern
and Asian dishes prepared and served on unique pottery dishes at
surprisingly reasonable prices for a five star resort. Relaxed ambiance.
Lunch and dinner daily. The beautifully situated Watercourt restaurant
overlooks calm waters. Chefs prepare exquisite meals including Asian
seafood with a Mediterranean touch.
At the Sheraton
Grande Laguna Phuket, you can sample some Southern Thai
and local Phuket dishes at Chao Lay. This air-conditioned
restaurant with its traditional Thai architecture has Thai seating
(floor level) and a view of the lagoon accompanied by traditional
Thai music. The hotel's signature restaurant, Puccini, a
northern Italian restaurant, offers a mouth-watering menu and great
food.
The Teahouse serves authentic Cantonese and Szechwan cuisine
prepared by a top Chinese chef. The Peking Duck is wonderful. As
the name suggests, the decor represents an old Chinese teahouse.
In addition to the award-winning restaurants of Laguna Phuket,
there is a nice little strip of upscale shops and restaurants that
has developed nearby. Most of these restaurants provide free shuttle
services to guests of Laguna Phuket.
Toto's is well known for serving gourmet Italian food in
a fun but classy setting. Opposite Toto you'll find the intimate
Tawai, a very good value Thai restaurant that offers home-cooked
Central Thai food as well as an excellent selection of wines.
The excellent and very reasonable Tatonka,
also on this same stretch, has made quite a name for itself with
its unique 'Globetrotter Cuisine'. Chef Harold wandered from Europe
to North America to Southeast Asia, picking up cultural techniques
and flavours along the way, all of which find expression in this
airy, great value dining establishment.
Siam Supper Club is well known as a place to socialize,
network and, of course, enjoy some first class cuisine. With a 'California
Cuisine' menu and some of the best cheesecake anywhere in the world,
this funky, hip restaurant and lounge is an institution among the
island's well-to-do residents. In Cherng Talay, you'll find the Red Room, where Italian
traditions, exotic Asian flavours and French influence are brought
together to produce a truly international dining experience.
