Bellman's Steak & Pizzeria

Another Scandinavian-run operation, this restaurant first and foremost is there to serve its guesthouse customers and is part of a chain – the other branch being in Karon. Clean, efficiently run with mid-range prices.

Buffalo Steakhouse Kata

Another perennial favourite and well-frequented spot, Buffalo Steakhouse has been going for years and offers a wide variety of food, sounds and sights. This 100-cover Scandinavian restaurant is open daily and, being on a busy pedestrian corner, is a good place to watch the world drift by.

With its nice setting and comfortable seating right alongside the road, Berns is a place to hang out in rainy weather or when the day is getting a bit too warm. Many visitors find it a nice spot to just relax and soak up the local atmosphere while having a cold drink and watching the world go by. They offer special prices on selected drink items from time to time, such as Mojitos and Gin & Tonics at 99 baht, and also a 25 per cent discount on food between 10:00 – 18:00. They also have free Wi-Fi.

Capannina Inn & Restaurant

It’s not only that it has a great location, about 500 metres from the beach, but Capannina Inn & Restaurant serves good Italian dishes in big portion and with reasonable prices. Chang Siam

Very welcoming and cosy, the restaurant is focusing on both Thai and European dishes. Must-try items include chicken satay, steamed mussels in Thai herbs, lobster thermador and red curry duck. Don’t leave the place without sampling the coconut ice cream - it’s very refreshing and simply delicious. On top of its well-priced massive menu, Chang Siam also offers a pool table and a cold towel as part of their friendly service.

Sugar & Spice Soi Malisa

Sugar & Spice offers traditional Thai cuisine in modern and relaxing surroundings. Think wooden tables with orange tablecloths and colourful lanterns as well as northern-style paper umbrellas hanging up on the ceiling, which definitely help brighten up the overall atmosphere.

Sunset is the best time to dine at Tiffin Mama, the signature restaurant of Foto Hotel, directly above Kata Noi Beach in the south of Phuket. The Old Siam

Two Chefs in Kata Beach

Diagonally opposite Boathouse stands Two Chefs, a Swedish-run restaurant that has flourished over time and consequently earned itself a reputation for good, innovative cuisine at reasonable prices. Two Chefs is a cut above 'normal' Kata tourist restaurants.

Restaurants in Kata Noi


This fan-cooled place serves mainly seafood and Thai in a simple style. Though there is nothing fancy about its decoration they at least try to impress customer with clean white tablecloths. There are some lovely Thai orchids hanging on one side of the restaurant (hence the name).

Jao Jong Seafood
