Hideaway herbal products are a development from our Spa, here on Phuket Island. For more than 12 years, we have been using Thai herbal remedies to alleviate the problems caused by living in the modern world. By studing the herbs used traditionally by monks in the temples, we have developed a range of Thai herbal products. They are based on centuries of tradition and experience, but modern in their recognition of the quality demands of you, the consumer.

THAI HERBS


PRAI	Our main herb. Prai root is from the ginger family and has traditionally been used as a skin beautifier. It’s also an antiseptic.

MAGRUT	The Thai name for the small wild lime, long used by country folk for hair care.

WILD MINT	On the plains of Isarn in Northern Thailand where the sun is unmerciful, women have for centuries used a paste of wild mint leaves as a coolant.

KHAMIN	Another root of the ginger family, it’s used as a toner and cleanser and is reknowned by beauty pagent contestants.

YLANG YLANG	A stress relieving oil which has long been used by monks in herbal saunas, rumoured to be aphrodisiac.

TANGERINE	From the fruit comes a sweet oil which gives a feeling of calmness when applied to the body.

NUTMEG	The oil is used here in the south of Thailand for a variety of purposes, but mainly to relieve the pain of minor muscle ailments.

LEMONGRASS	An essential ingredient of Thai cuisine, lemon grass has an equally long history as a cure for breathing problems.
