Bungy Jumping

This is an adrenaline-pumping plunge for those adventurous types who live for challenges. But if you're the kind that likes a more vicarious form of excitement, just enjoy the spectacle at a secure distance from a table at the restaurant below.

The jump tower is set over a picturesque pond, formerly the site for tin-mining activities, but now a safe location for experiencing big-time thrills. The jump site is the only licensed one in Thailand and the only insured site in Asia.

On the road leading from Patong to Phuket Town through Kathu, look for Jungle Bungy Jump at the bottom of the "big hill" near the major intersection on the town side. You can also look out for their "catapult bungee" in front of the Expat Hotel, on Patong Beach.

Go-Karts

The Patong Go-kart Speedway is open every day of the week from 10:00am to nightfall within easy reach of Patong.   Here you can reach high speeds as you race against others on a real challenging 600m stretched racing track. Single and double karts are available and there's floodlighting for evening races. Acar park and restaurant with ice cool refreshments and snacks, are also available.

Mountain biking

One of the many assets of Phuket is the existence of well-surfaced roads that wind through scenic hills, green jungle and plantation on one side and, as often as not, blue sea on the other. You can set yourself as strenuous or as relaxing a route as you wish. Explore the wooded interior of the island, or tour the coast.

More and more hotels are providing mountain bikes to guests, both on Phuket and on the neighbouring mainland.

Rock climbing

In the past few years this area, especially around Krabi Province, has become renowned for its sheer limestone challenges to the climber. A number of Krabi-based schools offer instruction to beginners and experienced human flies alike.

Quest Laguna Phuket invites you to enjoy the fun and excitement of the Quest high wire challenge course. Situated in a grove of pines overlooking the Andaman Sea, the high ropes course is guaranteed to get your heart racing!

Climb to the top of the 15m tower then abseil back to earth! The Quest climbing tower offers challenges for beginners to advanced climbers on its 15° wall, sheer slab or gravity defying incline wall.

Professional instructors will teach you the ins and outs of rock climbing and abseiling with plenty of helpful hints!

The most adventurous day you will have on your holiday!

Muay Thai (Thai Boxing).

One of the most popular spectator sports in Thailand, and now gaining world renown, is the martial art of Muay Thai. Exciting enough on TV - the furious punches, crushing elbow strikes, lethal kicks and artful feints are even more exciting when seen live. Witness the passion and drama of one of Thailand's historic sports amidst crowds of onlookers whose cheers blend with the strains of Javanese clarinets, drums and cymbals that accompany the fight from beginning to end. Phuket Boxing Stadium on Phuket Road, Amphoe Muang, Phuket Town features live matches on Fridays at 8.00pm. For tourists in the Patong Beach area, nightly displays of Thai Boxing are carried out in a specially built stadium on Soi Bangla.

Others

There's plenty more to occupy you on land, should you ever tire of beaches and sea-sports. Shooting ranges, riding stables, elephant trekking and back-trail tours of the island are just some of the other available diversions.
