where to stay. To help you make an informed choice of hotel, the lowdown

| | Patong Beach RoadThe beach road is a prime location for hotels with many rooms on the
beach road having wonderful sea views. Location wise the central part is in the
heart of the action with the northern and southern ends being a little quieter.
All the hotels have been renovated recently, whilst the excellent location is
reflected in the prices. There's lots of pedestrian traffic in the evenings
with people strolling and browsing the many shops that have their wares on display.
The many alfresco bars and restaurants on the beach road which gives it a good
atmosphere at night-time that's great for families.

Good value for money in
a fine location. Patong Bay Garden Resort is one of the very few hotels in Patong
that are right on the beach. With a swimming pool, coffee shop, restaurant, room
service and more you need never leave the resort - but if you do, all the exciting
nightlife and dining options of Patong are just steps away. The excellent beach
bar is one of the most popular places to watch the sunset in Patong.

close by, restaurants, shopping nightlife. This hotel has rooms on both sides
of the Beach Road, the ones one the beach are much preferred. The notable Savoey

The only 4 star hotel actually on Patong Beach.
The accommodation of this firm favourite is all beach bungalows decorated in a
warm modern Thai style throughout. The Sala Bua restaurant is noted for it's excellent

An old favourite with all the facilities you
could possible want, set into 2 separate wings - it's almost like two separate
hotels. The Busakorn Wing is tailored more to couples and the Main Wing more to
families. Shopping, entertainment and the beach are all just steps away. Relax
within secluded tropical grounds, seek lazy times by one of the 6 pools. Families
are thoughtfully catered for with 2 Kids Clubs, kids activity pool. One of the
few hotels in Patong really suitable for families with young children. Popular

Further south along the beach road there are some great hotels very
close to the beach however it's quiet here. To go to the main part of town in
the evening you'll need to walk or take a tuk-tuk but in exchange you get a beachfront
location without the hustle and bustle.

| Beach Road North
Going north along the beach road you'll find some quieter more relaxing
resorts on the way to Kalim. This area is less busy with few pedestrians. The
beach is nonexistent or rocky in places and trees may obscure the views in some
places however there are some fantastic resorts away from the crowds. Opposite
you'll find some good restaurants with excellent views and ambience overlooking
the shoreline. The sandy part of the beach is a short walk whilst a tuk
tuk is probably best to get to the main part of town, especially in the daytime
heat.

This modern well
laid out resort offers excellent sea views from all rooms and even has a small
beach just in front. Being a little further from the main part of town it's a
great place to relax, the 77 rooms are somewhat spacious with contemporary Thai
decor. A popular midrange choice with couples that offers good value for money.

Built in 2007, this well finished 121 room hotel
is just minutes walk from the main part of Patong Beach. Laid out around a large

rooms have sea views.

Road runs parallel to the beach road one block back. Parts of it tend to be very
busy at all times of day, especially in the evenings when the pavements turn into
a market. Many shops and restaurants are located on this road and it's pretty
much the main street of Patong. Accommodation tends to be at the lower end
of the scale with many backpacker options however there are also many resort hotels
as well. This is a great option for those who want to be close to the action whilst
also a short walk to the beach.
