  • Phuket Weather in August

What is the weather like in Phuket in August

    0

The weather in Phuket in August is best enjoyed by surfers and other water sports enthusiasts. The wind from the west is at its strongest and most consistent, creating the most waves and roughest sea conditions. The water temperature is also starting to cool off a little, dropping to an average of 29°C (84°F). Air temperature is also cool, by Phuket standards, at 27.9°C (82.2°F), though humidity is high at 76%. The southwest monsoon, which brings the waves, also brings 261.6mm of rain, usually dropped in short but heavy showers over the course of about 17 days and mostly at night. You can still enjoy plenty of clear days and even sunny periods between downpours.

Phuket’s ‘low’ season is not as restrictive as many people think. Between sudden rainfalls there are flashes of brilliant weather and even on cloudy days there’s not much to hamper you getting around and exploring. A great idea at this time of year is to explore Phuket’s peripheral islands that lay largely to the east of the island.

Step back in time on Koh Yao Noi and discover what Phuket was like a couple of decades ago or go hornbill watching on Coral Island. Visit a pearl farm on Koh Rang Yai or simply soak up the peace and quiet on Koh Lone and Koh Yao Noi. Read More...

You don't have to be a rocket scientist to work out the equation; sunset + cocktail + good company = magic. Thankfully, Phuket's west coast is riddled with places to try out this combination in many shapes and forms.

From the all-white sophistication of Joe's Downstairs to the elevated viewpoint of Diavolo in Paresa, there's a lot to choose from. The only unbreakable condition is that you have to be on time.
