Winners of Phuket.com Top 10 Hotels

Phuket.com has just released its three Top 10 'Best Hotel' lists for 2008.
With so many excellent hotels in Phuket the competition for the Number One place was fierce. Passions ran high as opinions were exchanged. 2007 was a record year for tourist arrivals in Phuket and with 2008 set to surpass it, these are the hottest of the hottest properties around.

La Salsa reopens as a Tapas & Cigar Bar

La Salsa, an air-conditioned cocktail, Tapas and cigar bar at the Impiana Phuket Cabana Resort and Spa in Patong, reopened in December 2007 after a comprehensive renovation. Previously open-air, it is now air-conditioned, to help guests cool down after a hot Salsa dance with the five-piece house band. The newly-installed windows also block noise and fumes from Thaweewong Rd outside.

Gabriele Roscini, the resort’s F&B Manager, told Phuket.com “The renovation is intended to give La Salsa a more Cuban-Latin American appeal.

“The drinks list and food menus have been overhauled. Guests in La Salsa will now find a list of more than 150 cocktails to choose from, along with freshly-made sangria, and a large selection of fine rums and tequilas. Also, our selection of tapas will satisfy even the hungriest guest,” he said.

New Dolphin Pool Villas at Mom Tri's Boathouse, Kata Beach

The latest additions to the five-star portfolio of celebrated Thai architect and artist, Mom Luang Tridhosyuth Devakul (known as Mom Tri), are the Dolphin Pool Villas at the Boathouse on Kata Beach.

The two new luxury villas, in contemporary Thai style, each have more than 120 square metres of spacious comfort in the ultimate beachfront location, just steps away from the soft sands of the beach. Each has a large lounge and a study, enormous beds, a private swimming pool, private outdoor shower and a shaded wrap-around terrace. Services offered include a dedicated private butler service from 07.30 – 18.30.

Please note that children under 10 years of age are not permitted in the Dolphin Pool Villas.

Access Resort & Villas in Karon Beach: Phase 2 Now Open

Access Resort & Villas

The second phase of the Access Resort & Villas on Karon Beach opened at the end of the 2007, adding 59 rooms to the existing 80.

The new Blue Wing features eight villas, each with private Jacuzzi.

The 51 deluxe rooms all have direct pool access. All rooms are decorated in Bali-influenced style.

The Access Resort is known especially for its room service. All food and drink is delivered to guests’ rooms by boat.
