The JW Marriott Phuket Resort & Spa is celebrating being ranked
as the fifth-best resort in Asia in the Conde Nast Traveler magazines
Readers Choice Awards for 2007. In 2006, the resort ranked
eighth in the same survey.
John Webb, the resorts General Manager, said, We are
honoured to receive this recognition. It is a credit to our dedicated
employees. The award attests to the best-quality services provided
by our fabulous associates and the high levels of commitment to
go the extra mile to satisfy customers.
The award followed another from the American magazine Travel+Leisure
which, in its October 2007 issue, awarded the JW Marriotts
spa third place in its list of the best in Asia-Pacific, Africa
and the Middle East. Of the 10 spas named, five are in Thailand.

The Six Senses
Hideaway Yao Noi opened late last year on Koh Yao Noi, an island
in the middle of Phang Nga Bay, between Phuket and Krabi. Its 56
private pool villas are elegantly designed using local building
techniques and natural materials, such as roofs using a thatch of
sago palm leaf. This approach exemplifies Six Senses stated
core purpose of creating innovative and enriching experiences
in a sustainable environment.
Accommodation includes 28 Pool Villas, 11 Deluxe Pool Villas, 11
Pool Villa Suites, the two-bedroom Retreat and the three-bedroom
Hill Top Reserve, all looking out onto the world-famous limestone
islands of Phang Nga Bay.
Guests can have meals served in private in their villas or in the
resorts Living Room and Terrace, or in the Dining Room. The
choice of cuisine ranges from Thai to Mediterranean, with tandoori
and pizza ovens and a noodles bar.
Activities include diving, Thai cooking classes and wine tastings,
customized boat and bicycle tours, and the Six Senses Spa.
The resort is 45 minutes to an hour from Phuket International Airport
by motor boat, or 15 minutes by helicopter.
