With more and more people discovering the delights of a holiday
in Phuket, demand for accommodation has never been higher,
and the hotel and resort business is booming.
Every year, more hotels are being built, from delightful
boutique resorts to large properties with stacks of facilities.
Here, Phuket.com highlights five delightful new properties
that have just opened or that will do so in the next couple
of months.

The new Mercure Patong Beach hotel
opened its doors just in time for the start of the 2007 high tourism
season. The four-star hotel, Mercures eighth in Thailand,
is in the heart of Phukets best known holiday town, Patong.
It has a total of 249 rooms including 235 superior rooms, 10 Family
rooms and four suites, and was designed with the weekend leisure
and family holiday markets in mind. The Mercures restaurant
serves Thai and international dishes, and the hotel has three bars,
two swimming pools, a spa, a fitness centre and a kids club.
Good news for mum and dad: the hotel also has a baby-sitting service.
For business people, there are six meeting rooms with a total capacity
of 500 people.
The Mercure Patong Beach hotel is a 45-minute drive from Phuket
International Airport and 30 minutes from Phuket Town.

The Millennium Resort Patong Phuket
will be up and running in November. This five-star property is the
second Millennium hotel in Thailand. For those who enjoy shopping
and entertainment, the hotel is ideal its part of Patongs
giant Jungceylon shopping arcade, with its shops, cinemas and open-air
concerts.
The 421 rooms are separated into two wings the Beachside
and the Lakeside and are furnished in rustic resort
charm. Each wing has a swimming pool, a health and fitness
centre, a spa and a business center.

Currently receiving the finishing touches, the Peach
Blossom Resort, in the seaside resort town of Kata, is scheduled
to open on November 1.
The modern four-star resort is set among among green gardens in
the hills overlooking the beaches of Kata and Karon, and the Andaman
Sea, yet is only 400-500 metres from the beach, very close to Kata
Shopping Center, 10 minutes drive from Patong Beach, 20 minutes
from Phuket Town and 45 minutes from Phuket International Airport.
The Peach Blossom has nine Pool Villas, 10 Grand Suites and 101
Grand Deluxe rooms. Families traveling together will be happy to
know that two children between two and 12 years old may share a
room with their patents many hotels allow only one child
to share.

Villa Zolitude Phuket is a stylish
boutique resort hidden in exotically jungled hillside not far from
Chalong Bay. It has 29 one-bedroom pool villas and one two-bedroom
pool villa. The villas are designed with the touch of Moroccan charm.
The owners say its the the kind of place where, once you have
checked in, you wont want to go out, or even leave your villa.
While staying there, try the 180° Grill & View restaurant
which serves seafood dishes along with international food
a very romantic place for candlelit dinners for two. Through Villa
Zolitude is not close to the sea, it has a free shuttle service
to Nai Harn Beach.

This is the newest five-star resort on Mai Khao Beach, Phukets
longest stretch of sand. It is due to open late this year. Sala
Phuket Resort and Spa is a stunning new deluxe pool villa resort,
featuring private swimming pools in 63 out of 79 total rooms, villas,
and suites. All room types offer plenty of personal and private
space, making this an ideal resort for that dream holiday.
The architecture draws on the elegance of traditional Sino-Portuguese

Sala Phuket is only 10 minutes away from Phuket International Airport
and very close to world-famous Phang Nga Bay.
