June 2008 - Sports in Phuket

Active Phuket for all: White Water Rafting

Welcome to Phuket.Com's June edition. In our magazine this month we're covering all things to do with the world of sports. There are regular features such as Top Ten Reasons to stay... this month at Le Meridien and Patong's super-chic and brand-new Millennium Resort.

In our Tour Section we head off to lush Phang Nga Province to experience what it's like to whitewater raft down the Song Praek River and explore the region on an ATV. Find out which are Phuket's Top Ten Fitness Resorts and read up on Phuket's golf courses.

Which are Phuket's best restaurants? We continue our monthly survey by covering Salvatore's in Phuket Town and new kid on the block, Jean-Pierre in Patong. Everyone loves a good bar but what about Phuket's best sports bars – don't worry, we've got that base covered and have scored an easy goal in Phuket's Best Sports Bars.

You may have wondered just what grown men are doing kicking a small rattan ball around every early evening. Well, find out more in our article on Takraw – 'volleyball for the feet.'
In 'Unusual Phuket' we cover two facets of Phuket life. One firmly tongue in cheek and the other factual. 'Alternative Sports' takes a comic look at the other side of fitness on the island while 'Lottery Numbers' is deadly serious – in a funny sort of way.

There are a host of sporting events on the way here.
