The Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation
(DNP) has announced new entrance fees for foreigners visiting Thailands
national parks. The fees for parks in Phuket and neighbouring provinces
are as follows. Children are charged at half the adult rate.
Phuket: Sirinath
National Park, 200 baht.
Phang Nga: Similan Islands Marine National Park and Surin
Islands Marine National Park, 400 baht; Phang Nga Bay Marine National
Park and Sri Phang Nga National Park and Khao Lak-Lam Ru National
Park, 100 baht.
Krabi: Koh Phi Phi Marine National Park, Koh Lanta Marine
National Park and Tan Boke Koranee National Park, 200 baht; Khao
Phanom Bencha National Park, 100 baht.
Satun: Koh Tarutao Marine National Park and Thale Ban National
Park, 200 baht; Koh Phetra Marine National Park, 100 baht.

| Similan Islands
|
|
Trang: Haad Chaomai National Park, 200 baht.
There have also been reports that the DNP is considering limiting
the number of tourist visiting some of the parks, including the
world-famous dive sites in the Surin and Similan Islands. This is
because of concern about the effect on marine life, especially coral,
of increasingly large numbers of visitors.
So far no specific announcement has been made, but Phuket.Com understands
that the restrictions are likely to be applied from July this year.
