A premier cooking school
Phuket, Thailand – June 2006 - Ginja Cook
is a contemporary learning facility introducing rich Thai cuisine
heritage to all age groups visiting JW Marriott Phuket Resort &
Spa. Ginja Cook’s “Everyone is Welcome” approach offers personalized
individual, family and group culinary courses.
The courses aim to provide an insight into the unique
art of Thai cuisine, demonstrating simple preparation techniques
for traditional dishes. Our goal is to respect the culinary past
and embrace its future with contemporary life-style twist.
Design
Designed
by the award-winning Bensley Design Studios in Bangkok, the resort’s
Thai style cooking school celebrates southern architecture and traditional
design in the style of a typical Thai Sala using teakwood as its
main material. Floor to ceiling glass sliding doors provide natural
light and showcase stunning view of the resort’s fragrant gardens
and the Andaman Sea. Ginja Cook is located in the newly opened South
Wing next to the Ginja Taste Thai restaurant.
Ginja Cook has four cooking stations, each for two
students and a spacious station for the instructing Chef. The intimate
capacity for eight students ensures a true interaction between the
instructor and the apprentice Chefs.
Each station has dramatically designed overhead exhaust
fans adding to the overall ambiance of the Sala. Traditional cooking
utensils from copper and wood are used for meal preparations.
Program
The Ginja Cook Day program introduces a delicious variety of Thai
cuisine and includes many top favorites. A Thai meal is a feast
for the senses, a medley of flavors, textures and aromas, it is
a mastery of herbs and spices borrowed from many cultures and blended
especially for a distinctly Thai taste.
Courses are held daily from Monday to Friday from
8.00 am – 2.00 pm.
