Laguna’s latest bistro

Erik Stocker is responsible for putting mountain bikes in most of Phuket’s five star resort properties and until recently operated Singletrak, the island’s most complete store for the cycling enthusiast.

But recently, the California native decided to downscale the bike business and expand into building an upscale restaurant which will feature Thai food in a more Western setting.

"I decided on a Thai food menu as most people fly to Phuket from around the world, in part to eat Thai food. So why should I give them something else?" Erik explained, "also I can find excellent cooks and recipes locally and it’s easier to source the ingredients."

Erik is building an extensive bar in his new restaurant which will give his guests a place to relax and enjoy a few drinks on their way to or from Laguna Phuket.

He hasn’t decided on a new name for his restaurant but workmen are busy night and day preparing for an opening in a few weeks.
