Diving
Another world, as scintillating and animated as Phuket's beach culture, lies just beneath the translucent blue surface. Brilliant-coloured fish, anemones and coral reefs inhabit the bountiful ocean floor to the south and east of Cape Panwa. Among the most visited diving sites, for their spectacular marine inhabitants and rock formations, are Coral Island, Anemone Reef, Shark Rock, Phi Phi, Racha Noi and Racha Yai, all of which are a short boat ride away from the nearby Phuket Pier. For beginners, the hotel provides a complimentary scuba diving introduction course upon request. Refresher courses or PADI scuba diving courses can be arranged at a certified diving school within the hotel's vicinity.
Boat Excursions
Peppered with numerous limestone islands, sea caves and isolated beaches, the expansive seascapes to the east of Phuket boast a sublime backdrop for one-day boat excursions. From Chalong Pier, a boat ride towards the northeast reveals dramatic islandscapes of Phang Nga Bay, famous for its emerald green waters, towering limestone cliffs and rocky pinnacles carpeted in lush-green outcrop, including the world-famous James Bond Island. A 45-minute boat ride to the east of Phuket, the crystalline waters open out to reveal an expansive horizon, sculpted into dramatic formations and picturesque archipelagos of Phi Phi, whereas to the south, the expansive beachfronts of Racha Islands are ideal for an afternoon picnic.
