A gateway to southern islands
One of the most serene shorelines of Phuket, this area encompasses the southeastern tip of the island from the Royal Thai Navy Headquarters to Phuket Aquarium and enjoys a peaceful atmosphere.
From the beachfront, the sparkling blue waters of Chalong Bay come alive with local fishing boats, island ferries and private yachts. Looming over the horizon is Lone Island, with its verdant forest cover that has sheltered local fishermen's communities and rubber plantations for decades.
Further away along the western shoreline is Chalong Bay Beach, where a handful of open-air restaurants and cafés pepper the beachfront promenade. A centre of boating activities, Chalong Pier's 720-metre long jetty is a major gateway to southern Thailand's world-famous island destinations and a safe harbour for mooring.
