Breeze at Cape Yamu
Fine Dining in an Out-of-Time Atmosphere
Living up to its moniker, Breeze is caressed by light winds and straddles a beachside incline with views out over Cape Yamu and distant Phuket Town. Directly to the east lies Koh Yao Yai, Koh Maphrao, Koh Rang Yai and Koh Rang Noi. It's a scenic spot to be in.
A newcomer to Phuket’s fine-dining scene, Breeze offers modern and inventive cuisine featuring only the freshest possible ingredients and a menu that changes every few days in accordance with available local quality produce.

Décor and Atmosphere
If tasteful décor automatically denotes fine dining then Breeze has already got it all sewn up. To put it mildly, Breeze is a joy to be seated in. Virgin tree trunks ascend to the wood-slatted ceiling while in the middle of the fan-cooled and open-sided restaurant a live palm rises up and through the roof.
Breeze has various sizes of dining tables, with huge smoothed-off and varnished teakwood tables for larger groups. Near the open-kitchen window stands a signature life-size brass creation of Yue Minjun – a well-known Chinese artist – and towards the garden side is a towering ceramic urn.
On the sea side, large throw-cushion-filled ‘love loungers’ overlook a fair-sized infinity pool that enjoys vistas out over the Cape and next to that is a giant-sized chequers/chess board. The chic, ‘no worries’ atmosphere of Breeze largely stems from its well-trained staff members’ ‘can-do’ attitude and the attention to detail here is only found in upper-level establishments. Music wise, the choice is about perfect with a slight emphasis on French evergreens.
Food and Drink
There’s an intelligent 12-label wine list here plus a couple of sparkling and Champagne choices as well as organic wine. Our Mas Neuf Les Conviviales rosé goes admirably well with each dish sampled, starting with flatbread served with homemade cashew nut butter followed by starters of creamy shrimp cocktail with a hint of paprika, cucumber coriander and spring onion. A duck rillette with sensational apricot mustard, greens and grilled bread is just as good.
For mains a redfish a la plancha in super crispy batter with well-textured green beans, shallots and mizuna aioli and duck confit are confirmation that the cuisine here rivals and excels the best Phuket has to offer. Dessert-wise, we try a fresh pomelo sorbet with mint sago which is freshness itself, bursting with flavour and character.
The service at Breeze is exemplary. From the enthusiastic chef to the gentle-mannered waiters you’ll be looked after well here.
