Chez Bernard Phuket – sometimes known as “Restaurant No. 6” – is a modest restaurant serving Thai cuisine with a French twist right on Patong Beach. With a beachy driftwood décor and casual outdoor seating overlooking the ocean, the restaurant offers an ideal setting for enjoying the laid-back lifestyle of Phuket. It’s one of the few restaurants in Patong where you can actually dine with your toes in the sand and is one of the oldest and most longstanding dining options in town.

Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, Chez Bernard offers fresh seafood like king prawns and local fish cooked in banana leaves. On the western side of things, fresh baguettes and generous breakfast sets are a firm favourite among regulars, many of whom are French expats. The name of the restaurant comes from the French owner, who can often be spotted on the premises. Prices range from around 70 to 80 baht for noodle dishes up to 250 baht for steaks, with local beer prices starting at 60 baht.
The restaurant’s relaxed atmosphere makes Chez Bernard Phuket perfect for enjoying a family meal, as kids can play around in the sand while waiting for their food. The beachside location is also ideal for taking in the sunset while dining.
