Ginja Taste is a Thai restaurant that’s part of JW Marriott Phuket Resort and Spa on Phuket’s northern coast of Mai Khao. Diners can enjoy the unique ambience of dining in a traditional wooden Thai sala, but with added walls and cooling air-conditioning. The impressive teak ceiling and sturdy pillars will, however, no doubt make you feel like you are dining in an open-air pavilion. Snag a window seat if you visit towards the start of the evening and you’ll be able to admire the lovely sunset vistas. If you would prefer to feel the ocean breeze and hear the crashing of the waves, outdoor seating is also available. Ginja Taste has a casual dress code and opens only in the evenings.
Serving traditional Thai fare, including some local specialities and signature creations, the chefs aim to bring the best of Thai cuisine from all around the Land of Smiles direct to the tables in Ginja Taste. Eat your way around Thailand’s different regions without leaving Phuket!
Authentic meals are prepared using fresh ingredients, with artistic presentation to make your meals Insta-worthy before tucking in. A chilli rating system indicates the spiciness of each dish, which is a great help for those who prefer mild fare and for those who love their food spicy hot. Stir-fried noodles and fried rice are the cheapest main-course options on Ginja Taste’s extensive menu, costing 460 THB each. Portions are generous though, with the the pad Thai especially noted for its large size. Duck curry, red curry with chicken and mushrooms, green curry, beef and pumpkin yellow curry, and khao soi (a noodle soup that is popular in Northern Thailand) are amongst the other a la carte main courses available. If a group is dining together, the set menus, comprising several starters and mains, can be an ideal way to sample an assortment of Thai dishes.
