Hooters Phuket is the first establishment of this internationally recognised North American restaurant chain to settle in Thailand. This sports bar and restaurant is located right next to Hard Rock Café Phuket, on the ground of Swissotel Phuket Resort in Patong Beach. Set facing Rat-U-Thit Road at the corner of the impressive hotel’s building, Hooters Phuket features a large L-shaped covered terrace, an outdoor covered circular bar counter, an indoor dining room at the second floor, and a merchandising store.
All the ‘elements’ that made Hooters so popular in the US (over 400 branches) and in the world (over 40 branches) are obviously parts of Phuket’s branch: famous chicken wings along with hamburgers, seafood, steaks and sandwiches; signature cocktails and shooters; and last but not least, the Hooters Girls, sexy-dressed pretty waitresses which assure a professional service with a smile.
Hooters Phuket stands out on Rat-U-Thit Road with its brightly illuminated venue set at the corner of a huge contemporary neo-colonial style white building part of dusitD2 Phuket Resort. The main dining area is an outdoor terrace covered with white tarpaulin that can host up to 100 guests on two types of seating: the left part features small high tables with two chairs, and the right part features standard dining tables for four persons; in between stands a large circular bar counters with high stools.
Sports’ aficionados can enjoy their passion at Hooters Phuket as the main outdoor dining area counts no less than 12 large flat-screen televisions retransmitting different major sport events; without sound though, as the musical ambience of the venue is closer to a hip discotheque, with rather loud trendy house music blasted through hi-tech speakers (do not seat next to them if you would like to have a conversation).
Concerning food, it may be a cliché but Hooters Phuket is indeed in line with the standard North American diet; their nearly world-famous chicken wings (10pcs at 299 baht) are of course well represented with a choice between three options: Original Style, Daytona Style (with special sauce and finished off on the grill), and Boneless Wings; ham/cheeseburgers (Western BBQ at 499 baht); Tex-Mex appetizers (quesadillas chicken at 349 baht); seafood (1/2lb steamed shrimp served with cocktail sauce and butter at 499 baht); and more.
The drink-list features 21 world-famous and Hooters’ signature cocktails including three cocktails that can be customized according to customers’ taste (six different fruit flavours for ‘Rita Gone Wild’ and ‘Mojito’, four different Vodka brands and three spiciness level for ‘Bloody Mary’). Cocktail prices range between 240 and 320 baht. Hooters Phuket offers a daily 11:00 – 18:00 Happy Hour: five bottles of Singha beer at 399 baht; buy one get one free for all Mojito & Margaritas; and all house spirits at 99 baht.
