  • Mirror Mirror Restaurant in Phuket

Travel Back in Time for an Exquisite Dinner in Phuket Old Town

Mirror Mirror is an elegant restaurant located on Dibuk Road, in the heart of Old Phuket Town. Set in a beautifully renovated two-storey townhouse built in 1930, the restaurant is a classy act targeting wealthy Epicureans looking for a stylish, tranquil venue at which they can feast on delectable dishes in a timeless décor and atmosphere.

Mirror Mirror Restaurant serves excellent French-American cuisine, prepared with love by the talented young Bangkokian Chef Poi. Pleasantly graceful in appearance and serving delicate flavourful dishes, it has gained a nation-wide reputation since its opening in 2014. Do not miss out, if you are around Old Phuket Town and want to indulge yourself in a top-notch restaurant.

  • Mirror Mirror owes its name to the two full-length reflective surfaces along both sides of its downstairs dining room. The effect they give seems to expand the typically narrow Chinese townhouse to infinity. The décor of the restaurant is a nicely made replica of a French bistro from the ‘30s, with a Sino-Portuguese twist to it in the shape of wooden furnishing, wallpapers, decoration artefacts and framed black and white pictures. Nothing is left to chance regarding the restaurant owners’ will to take their patrons back to a glorious past. There’s even a stuffed fox that has pride of place on the bar counter in the 50-seat downstairs room.

The room upstairs is designed in the exact same style, yet has more of a lounge atmosphere with its low tables and leather armchairs; it feels like dining in the classy private house of a French notable. It can host up to 30 guests. The dining room upstairs can be reserved for private parties, and that different music can be played downstairs and upstairs. Regarding music, a list of classic and modern jazz tunes are played in an unobtrusive way in the restaurant. Every Friday, live music is performed from 21:30 – 23:00.

Bangkokian Chef Poi is the man behind the stoves. With seven years of experience in various famous Bangkok restaurants (including at the JW Marriott Hotel Bangkok), he describes his style as classic cuisine with a modern twist. Mirror Mirror’s menu is not very long – only seven pages - but hosts a great choice of succulent French classic dishes re-visited by Chef Poi, from the crepe with black truffle (with gruyere, ham and egg at 350 baht) to champignons sautéed with white wine (350 baht) to pan seared sea bass (served with sautéed tomato and lemon butter sauce at 490 baht) to crepe suzette (French crepe with orange sauce and Cointreau, topped with vanilla ice cream at 180 baht), just to name a few.

Mirror Mirror Restaurant also has an excellent selection of new and old world labels available to perfectly suit the dishes on offer. French red and rosé Bordeaux, Chilean and Australian white Chardonnay - the wine-list is on-par with the restaurant’s quality.
