Phuket Shooting Range is without doubt the biggest attractions and activities complex on Phuket Island. Founded in 1989 it offers a suprisingly wide range of fun and exciting things to do: these include a shooting range, a racing go kart track, a snake farm and show, elephant trekking, paintball and ‘airsoft’ BB gun setup, ATV rides, and even a gems store – Kinaree House – in which you can purchase handcrafted souvenirs and jewels. And if that’s not enough then it’s good to know you can visit a tea museum displaying 700 varieties of tea from all around the world.
All these activities are located in a huge park (approx 150,000sq/m) situated some 700m from Chalong circle on the road to Kata Beach. Phuket Shooting Range complex opens daily from 09:00 to 18:00. Please note that all prices mentioned are of March 2013. Drinks and snacks are available at most of the Phuket Shooting Range activities and there is an onsite café.

The instructors are extremely professional and stringent rules are in place to assure perfect safety for visitors and shooters alike. For instance, any alcohol and/or inebriated people are strictly forbidden to enter the shooting range.
Set prices include a target, bullets, gun, instructor and insurance. According to the calibre of the bullet, expect to pay between 890 and 1,190 baht for 10. Archery is also available at Phuket Shooting Range.

Snake Farm & Show
The Snake Farm & Show is the place to observe some of the many reptiles native to Thailand. The Snake farm tour lasts 15 minutes. Apart from the dozens of snakes (venomous and non venomous) there are lizards, birds and even a wild cat (arguably better off in the wild though…) on display.
The Snake Show features cobras, king cobras, and mangrove snakes. You’ll be amazed at the courage of people handling and even kissing these highly dangerous creatures. You’ll also have the opportunity to touch, handle and be photographed with a python. There’s no timed schedule for Snake Show, they start as soon as there’s enough people to watch them. Entrance fee is 400 baht for adults and 200 baht for kids.

Kinaree Elephant Trekking
What would a trip to Thailand be without meeting its nationally revered animal? Kinaree Elephant Trekking allows you to get up close and personal to this impressive mammal, and takes you for a ride through a rubber plantation and rainforest on the back of this gentle giant.
After the tour you have a chance to get close to the elephants and to feed them with bananas. Expect to pay between 600 and 1,200 baht depending on the length of the trek.
Paintball Asia and Airsoft BB Gun
Here, there are two activities for all natural-born warriors whether boys or girls. These two action games are mostly the same, the main difference being that paintball uses coloured paint balls (hence its name) and Airsoft BB Gun uses plastic pellets and sensors to let you know when you’ve been hit. The rules of these two activities are slightly different, the Airsoft gun game is more strategic setup with clear objectives (to capture the flag for instance) and paintball is often a last-man-standing-wins arrangement. Both are very entertaining team-building activities.
Airsoft BB Gun and Paintball Asia have two different battlefields: in the woods and in ‘town’. All equipment, protective gear and clothing are provided. Rates are as following: 890 baht (50 paint balls – 400 pellets) and 590 baht (refill 50 paint balls – refill 400 pellets).
