SALA Phuket Restaurant is just the right choice for a romantic dinner in Phuket. Set on the northwestern coast of Phuket, on the grounds of SALA Phuket Resort, roughly 30m from Mai Khao Beach, this award-winning restaurant offers a haven of tranquillity in a stunning natural setting.
Regarding food, east meets west at SALA Phuket Restaurant: the young and talented Italian Executive Chef Davide brought a wide array of Mediterranean flavours with him, which perfectly complete a menu featuring all the classics of Thai cuisine prepared with the best ingredients.
SALA Phuket Restaurant is composed of two L-shaped open-sided structures built around the resort’s main swimming pool. The longest side of the L is occupied by the restaurant itself and features a rooftop dining option (open only from November to May), while the smaller part of the L hosts a cool lounge bar furnished with comfortable circular sofas. The restaurant is partially hidden behind a row of tropical almond and coconut trees and the whole structure lies on a well-maintained green lawn.
The atmosphere of the place is very relaxing, only perturbed by the sound of the waves lapping Mai Khao Beach, the murmur of the sea breeze through the tree branches, and the sounds of the insects and birds living in this well-preserved area. Sunset is a magical moment at SALA Phuket Restaurant: the flamboyant colours of the sky viewed through the trees while sipping a skilfully-mixed cocktail would make the day for anyone.
With two separate menus for lunch and dinner complementing a good choice of themed and seasonal special menus – ‘Ribs & Beats Wednesday’, ‘SALA Signature Seafood Platter’, or ‘Springtime in the Mediterranean’ to name a few – SALA Phuket Restaurant has something on offer to satisfy everyone. Amongst the most recommended dishes which curious and open-minded guests should certainly sample, as a starter, is the refreshing Peruvian-born dish named ‘Ceviche’ - fresh raw fish and vegetables cured in citrus juices – which is prepared here with a Thai-twist: the addition of coconut milk. It is simply scrumptious!
Two Thai set-menus are available for those who would like to discover the richness of Siamese cuisine, and the other dining options include a great variety of Italian, Mediterranean, and European dishes, with a large presence of seafood items freshly caught around Phuket Island.
Summing up, from its contemporary premises, perfectly integrated in their environment, to its unwinding atmosphere to its delectable food, SALA Phuket Restaurant has all the assets to satisfy the most demanding customers. Quality always comes at a certain price, so expect to pay 3,000 baht per head, on average, for a meal with drinks.
