    Five-star experiences with Seaview in Avista Hideaway Resort


    Sizzle, at Avista Hideaway Resort & Spa in the hills above southern Patong, is in one of the loveliest locations possible, enjoying lofty views over two gorgeous beaches and a sunset vista at certain times of year that is almost instantly addictive. This rooftop steakhouse seats just 32 and as a result it enjoys an intimate atmosphere with staff members providing optimum personal service.

    Helmed by US-born Executive Chef Timothy C. Westaway, his many years of culinary experiences around the globe are showcased in Cajun and Hawaiian influences to an extraordinary degree, making Sizzle one of the most eclectic yet well-defined five-star restaurant experiences in Phuket.

  • With dark-wood boardwalk flooring, attractive rattan furniture, low-slung seating, and an open kitchen, the setup here is relaxed and a small stage at the end of the restaurant, plus its exclusive setting, makes it an ideal place for private parties or weddings as well as a great place for a tryst or even a common-or-garden romantic evening.

    Sizzle’s menu comprises largely of farm-raised and grain-fed beef and features beef tenderloin, beef rib eye, Cajun blackened beef rib eye and beef strip loin served up in 250gm portions along with café de Paris, Dijon cream, creamy blue Oxford cheese, roasted garlic rosemary, Madagascar peppercorn, and Worcester demi glaze steak sauces.

    But sizzle is not restricted to steaks – its other grills include Kurobuta pork chops, grill-roasted free-range chicken, New Zealand lamb chops, BBQ basted pork ribs, and the ever-popular chef’s mixed grill plate, along with your choice of surf & turf dishes. Seafood lovers are also catered for here with grilled lobster, grilled giant twin tiger prawns, a sensational grilled Indonesian butter fish (highly recommended), wild Atlantic Dijon salmon, and seared sesame seed-crusted Pacific tuna.

    Stand-outs include the sensational Cajun blackened beef rib eye (“the best steak I’ve had in my life” comments one diner), grilled Indonesian butter fish with its unusually creamy texture and complex flavours, and creamed spinach with black truffle purée, and a must-mention is the kahlua chocolate mousse.

    When it comes to happy juice Sizzle is just as discerning in its choice of wines as it is in the turf/surf/poultry department. You’ll find good medium-priced labels from all around the world here along with a premium wine selection offering choices that rival New York or Paris in cost but by and large prices for food and beverage at Sizzle are acceptable and in accordance with its five-star setting, its experienced service staff, and its marvelously talented Executive Chef.
