Sophisticated Beach Club on Nai Yang Beach

Skye Beach Club is now permenantly closed.
All operations have moved to the Skye Lake Club in Bangtao.

Skye Beach Club is a chic and trendy restaurant and bar close by the picturesque Nai Yang Beach. Serving a good range of wines, spirits and cocktails and great food, it makes for an ideal way to round off a day at one of Phuket’s quieter beaches.

Located minutes from Phuket International Airport and seconds away from the Sirinat National Park, Skye Beach Club enjoys gorgeous surroundings, with only a narrow road and a treeline between the entrance and the beach. The entire place is situated on the second floor and the L-shaped design means that almost every part of the club enjoys the great scenery and the dappled glow of the sunset through the trees.

  • A simple white décor creates a chic, clean and contemporary feel which is unique to the quite rustic Nai Yang Beach Road. It shares the sophisticated atmosphere associated with similar establishments on Surin Beach, also bringing the chill-out soundtrack which is ideal for relaxing with good company and a great cocktail in the afternoon sun.

The cocktail list at Skye Beach Club includes 230-baht classics like Mojitos, Margaritas and Mai Tais alongside 250-baht signature beverages such as the Skye Beach Club (vodka, crème de cassis, sugar syrup and lychee) and the Lovely Gig (raspberry vodka, triple sec, fresh lime, lychee and strawberry). There is a daily happy hour from 16:00 to 18:00 – perfect for enjoying a few drinks and the great view of the sun sinking into the sea.

The food menu is made up of mostly western and international classics, including salads (prices ranging from 220-360 baht), pasta (230-350 baht) and some platters for sharing in the club’s convivial atmosphere (250-390 baht). Attending the opening in September 2015, we tried the crispy duck confit with passion fruit chutney (490 baht), which was cooked to perfection by Chef Saharat Tangthai – crispy on the outside and tender within. The chutney, in particular, was a really tasty twist to the dish, adding a lively fruity dimension.

Until Skye Beach Club opened, the Mai Khao and Nai Yang Beach areas of Phuket were largely devoid of any really trendy nightspots. Although it lacks the pools and toes-in-the-sand location of other clubs along the west coast, it does retain the same flair and chilled-out sophistication and adds fine dining and fire dancing to the mix. More importantly, it is conveniently located for guests of the high-end hotels in the area and shares the same high level of quality.
