    Most Popular Restaurants in Phuket

Our Phuket Top 20 Restaurants page took us a while to create. After long discussions, during which the Magazine team considered and weighed up each restaurant’s cuisine, setting, service, location, atmosphere and décor, we finally came up with a definitive list.

We have also tried to reflect Phuket’s cosmopolitan nature by representing a wide range of cuisine from various countries – so here they are: Phuket’s Top Twenty Restaurants. Bon appétit!

Kan Eang@Pier is a long-established restaurant specialising in seafood and local delicacies. Located on the shore of Chalong Bay, right next to the jetty, it features both indoor and outdoor dining areas and offers great views of the marina. 'Kan eang' roughly translates as 'easy going' and it's true that, for a large restaurant dealing with so many people on a daily basis, the atmosphere at Kan Eang still stays somewhat laid back and relaxed. Al fresco diners can enjoy the sea breeze and unbeatable view while sitting under huge 'hoo gwang' and tamarind trees which, to the owners' credit, have been untouched since time immemorial. For indoors dining there are three tastefully decorated air-conditioned salas as well as two open-sided dining salas – each with a thatched roof. Read More...

La Gritta is without doubt one of the most romantic restaurants in Phuket. Located in the compound of Amari Phuket at the southern end of Patong Bay, this fine-dining venue – as well as the whole resort - went through a complete refurbishment in 2013 before reopening in 2014. The new La Gritta Italian Restaurant features a superb contemporary design throughout its two distinct areas respectively named: La Gritta, the restaurant itself which includes both indoor (air conditioned) and outdoor dining areas; and La Gritta Terrace – a cosy, modern lounge partially open-air on the second floor. The two areas have stunning views over Patong Bay and offer a unique place for a gourmet dinner under the stars, only ‘perturbed’ by the relaxing sound of the waves licking the shore and the cool sea breeze refreshing the atmosphere and offering the ultimate tropical dinner.
