Phuket King's Cup Regatta

Phuket's largest and longest running sailing race event, the King's
Cup was inaugurated in 1987 to celebrate the 60th birthday of His
Majesty the King of Thailand. It is now part of the Omega Asian
Yachting Circuit, which includes the Raja Muda International Regatta,
the Singapore Straits Regatta and the China Sea Race. With glitzy
parties every night, King's Cup is a big part of Phuket's annual
social circuit too.
Phuket Invitational Superyacht Rendezvous

Phuket Invitational is for the owners, guests, captains and crew
of all superyachts visiting the Phuket area in the week before Christmas.
Yachts may join the event by invitation only. The event features
fun boating activities, cocktail parties onboard the participating
yachts and a gala dinner party.
Andaman Sea Rally

Inaugurated in 2003, the Andaman Sea rally takes sail and power
boaters on a race between Phuket and the remote and stunning Andaman
Islands of India. For those completing the return portion of the
race, the event lasts two weeks, with several days in the middle
of the race left open for sailors to explore the 572-island archipelago.
Phang Nga Bay Regatta

A relaxed and smaller event on the Phuket racing scene, the Phang
Nga Bay Regatta has been running every year during the Chinese New
Year since 1998. The four-day race takes yachts around some of Phang
Nga Bay's most spectacular sites, including Phi Phi and the bays
and islands of Krabi.
Koh Samui International Regatta

Inaugurated in 2002, the Koh Samui regatta has grown to become the
largest sailing race on the Gulf of Thailand. Laid-back fun is the
overriding atmosphere at this event, with a week-long schedule of
racing, parties and leisure activities.
Phuket Race Week

The first Phuket Race Week was held in 2004 and is expected to become
an annual event. Takes advantage of the brisk southwest monsoon
winds in a race off the east coast of Phuket. Lots of social events
throughout the week.

Phuket International Marine Expo (PIMEX)

PIMEX, an annual event that began in 2003, features about 100 national
and international exhibitors of luxury yachts, charter boats, marine
equipment and services, as well as Phuket property, resort and lifestyle
businesses. Open to both trade visitors and the general public.

The Ao Chalong Yacht Club is a gathering of local sailors who organize
races and social events throughout the year. Clubhouse located just
a 5-minute walk north of the Chalong Pier, down a small road behind
the old Phuket Fishing Lodge building. Restaurant-lounge open to
both members and non-members, from 3 pm to 11.45 pm daily.
Phuket Yacht Club
The Phuket Yacht Club is based in Ao Yon, on the Makham Bay headland
opposite Ao Chalong. A low-key, family-oriented club with regular
activities such as fun races and sailing lessons for kids. Can also
arrange moorings for long-stay yachts. For further details, call

The Marinas
Phuket's marinas - Boat Lagoon, Yacht Haven, and the Royal Phuket
Marina - are also popular gathering places for local and visiting
yachties. Lots of services, shops, and restaurants catering to the
yachting community. All are located along Phuket's east coast for
easy access to Phang Nga Bay, with the Yacht Haven at the northern
tip of the island.
