Kamala Beach’s dining scene is as rich and diverse as the most famous resort towns (Patong, Kata, Karon and Bangtao) along Phuket Island’s West coast, even though this seafront village is somehow perceived differently and far less buzzing than its famous neighbours. Village is the word that defines the best Kamala as despite its development to become a popular holiday destination, Kamala could retain a great part of its original local touch.
Our list of Top 10 Restaurants in Kamala is as eclectic as it could be: from high-end sophisticated restaurants such as Silk, Diavolo and Plum, to popular chain-restaurants like Grill Bill and Lucky 13 to family friendly reasonably priced local affairs like Kokosnuss Kamala or Charoen Seafood, there is something for everyone to dine at Kamala Beach Phuket.

The restaurant – and most of the resort – are built in classic Lanna Style (from the 15th century in northern Thailand) and features three distinct dining areas: indoor, in a courtyard, and right on the beach. Grill Bill is specialised in American (barbecued meat and fish) and Italian (wood fired pizza) favourites; serving only imported beef from Australia grilled on charcoal barbecue, Grill Bill is a haven for meat-lovers. Besides its BBQ food and pizzas, the restaurant also has a good choice of international dishes – pasta, salad, chili con carne, schnitzel, burgers and more. Prices are rather fair; for instance spaghetti carbonara with one glass of red house-wine cost 430 baht, and a grilled striploin steak (250gr) with pepper sauce costs 610 baht (prices of June 2014).
